Servings 12 pieces

  • 12 pieces Chicken lollipop
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 3 Green chillies
  • 1/2 cup Cornflour
  • Oil for deep frying
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 Onion, chopped fine
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped fine
  • 4 tbsp Tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp Soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/2 tsp White pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • Salt to taste

  • Grind together ginger, green chillies and garlic to a fine paste. Rub this paste into the chicken lollipops and set aside for 20 minutes or more.
  • Heat a wok/kadai and add oil for deep frying. While the oil heats up, add corn flour to the marinated chicken and mix with your hands to coat all the pieces. Drop a few pieces of the cornflour coated marinated chicken into the wok without crowding the wok and deep fry until they turn golden. Remove with a slotted spoon to a plate. Deep fry the rest of the pieces in batches.
  • Once all the chicken is fried, heat a pan and add a tablespoon of oil. When the oil turns hot, add the chopped onion and garlic and fry until the onion turns translucent. Add tomato sauce, soy sauce and water and mix well. Add white pepper powder, salt and sugar and mix well. When the sauce thickens and starts bubbling, add the fried chicken pieces to the pan and toss to coat well. Once all the chicken pieces are nicely coated in the sauce, switch off. Serve hot. Enjoy!
